Maintenance Instructions

Below you will find maintenance instructions for the various bike components, arranged from shortest to longest intervals. These instructions are based on a road bike with average use. Please note that the intervals can be significantly shorter depending on the use (e.g., off-road riding/races/mountain biking). We strongly recommend having the annual inspection carried out by qualified professionals. The dealers listed on our service card will be happy to assist you.

Before the first ride/after installation: Check the tightening torque of the screws on the bike. Check the position of the brake caliper and adjust it if necessary. Check the tire pressure.

After each trip/before the next trip: Visually inspect the entire bike, including: Torn/defective tires must be replaced. Check brake pads and cables for damage/wear and replace if necessary. Clean the drivetrain and re-lubricate it if necessary – only use bike chain oil (for chain-driven vehicles; not necessary for waxed chains). Never use motorcycle chain spray or WD40. Check lighting/batteries.

Additionally: Check the tightening torque of the screws on the bike. Check tire pressure and adjust if necessary.

After the first 500 km: Adjust the gear cables, brake cables, and dropper post cable (due to the stretching of new cables). Check spoke tension and tighten if necessary.

Once a year: Check spoke tension and tighten if necessary. Check the play of all bearings (headset bearings, pivot bearings, wheel bearings, handlebar bearings). If there is no play: lubricate them. In case of defects: replace them. We recommend annual service for front fork suspension and shock absorbers. Depending on the suspension manufacturer, specific maintenance intervals are prescribed, which you can find in the brand's manual and should adhere to. Perform major service for hydraulic brakes (change oil/hydraulic fluid). Check the drivetrain for wear and replace if necessary. Adjust the derailleur if necessary. Inspect the frame and wheels for cracks and damage. If you discover damage: contact the bike seller and do not continue to use the bike in its damaged state.
